Spiderbite's Sketch Tuesday

Here is a sketch for a watercolor I am planning. I have worked out most of the details and darks and lights in pencil. When I make the painting I don't like to have pencil lines on my watercolors so I make a sketch first and get familiar with the subject and work out all of the points of interest in my sketch.

Gallery in Palm Springs

I am going to be in a Gallery off of Cherokee Way in Palm Springs in March. It will be a group show (those are always more interesting) and I have chosen my watercolors from Cabot's as the theme. There will be 6 framed paintings and several for the browser bin. I am excited because this will mean my work is in more than one Gallery at the same time. Here is one of the paintings that will be framed.

I am juggling many very important things right now. It seems like one slip and I am toast, here is the art work that I created.

I am recording My Life in a Journal

I have decided to create an Altered Book Art Journal. Rather than write in a diary I am expressing my feelings and experiences in an old book. I have removed more than half of the pages and covered each page with strips of masking tape first, then paint, then my art. I will be posting the pages as I create them. Here is the first title page.
